The Reconfigurable platform research challenge is the design of sustainable, low-power IoT platforms based on compostable, reconfigurable, software-defined sensing, computation and communications to support long-term network operation. This goal is achieved by close collaboration of interdisciplinary research focusing on development of novel front end sustainable sensors incorporating biodegradable material components and fabrication processes for wearable sensing and environmental monitoring, supported by modelling and fabrication of sustainable antennas. All technological solutions are developed by incorporation of biodegrable materials and low environmental footprint fabrication methods. In this poster we will show our latest developments on a) biodegradable health and gas sensors; b) sustainable antennas and c) chipless RFID paper sensors for food quality monitoring.
